Questions:
- I have a good understanding of the logical arguments against abortion. For example, the fact that a fetus shares our DNA. Recently however, I had a debate with a Christian friend who is in favor of abortion. Other than “thou shalt not kill”, what are some verses that can be applied to abortion?
- 1 Timothy 3:1-3 and Titus 1:5-9 describe qualifications for bishops, deacons and elders in the church. In Acts 6:1-6 and Acts 14:23, specific people are given these roles by the apostles. In the meeting, why are specific people not ordained to fulfill these roles as they were in the early church?
- Is it okay for women to sing and say “amen” in assembly meetings when they are to keep silent? 1 Corinthians 14:34
- How do I know if something is from the Lord? Particularly when speaking up in a meeting or giving a talk, how do I know if what I’m saying is from the Lord or just my own thoughts? This also applies to the Remembrance meeting. If I have a hymn or verses on my heart, how do I know if the Lord would have me give them out or not?
- Why did the Lord Jesus so often rebuke demons for saying who He was and tell people he healed not to tell people what He had done? In spite of these commands, His fame spread anyway. Did He actually want to be known publicly?
- How can we balance the need for discipline, instruction and correction with building a genuine relationship with children at different age levels? I want to develop a healthy connection with my children that encourages obedience to the Lord, not just to me.
