Questions:
- Was Paul married?
- In reading Hebrews 6 there has been a lot of confusion with verses 4-6. How does it apply to us today? Satan has used these verses to cause a lot of worry and uncertainty in my own walk, since many years ago I walked away from God, even though I came back.
- Since all sin must be paid for, and punishment in hell does not atone for even one sin, did Jesus’ death on the cross pay for the sins of all mankind? And if so, is the ultimate reason people are in hell because of the sins they committed, or because they rejected the Gospel?
- In James 1:5, it says “If any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God”. We do something stupid, and lack common sense at times, especially when we need it the most. I’m not trying to gain more knowledge , but I do at least want to make smarter decisions / choices for Christ. What is the difference between common sense and wisdom? How can I use God’s help in this way?
- I know it says in the bible to respect your elders and not offend them, but what if they are wrong or call you out? What should you do in that situation?
- How do we know that the church does not replace Israel, become the new chosen people and receive all the promises made to Israel. Romans 11:17
- When God told Abraham his descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the sky or the sand on the seashore we understand that is figurative, not a literal number. In places like Revelation, Ezekiel, and Daniel there are many symbolic visions. How do we know, when we read Scripture, whether a passage is meant to be taken literally or figuratively?
- In Titus 2:4-5 the Bible says that the young women should be sober, love their husbands, etc., but it also says that they should be, “keepers at home”. Does this mean that any job that a sister has that does not allow her to stay at home is wrong?
- Joshua 24:15 ends with “as for me and my household we will serve the Lord.” This was Joshua taking on the role of a responsible leader for his family and exhorting others to choose whether they would serve the Lord or not. How does this apply to fathers instructing their household about modesty?
